Olympic Distance

One-and-a-half kilometers in Lake Michigan. Forty kilometers through urban streets with technical turns and fast descents. Ten kilometers finishing in Grant Park. Olympic distance is the standard that made triathlon an Olympic sport.

Sunday at Monroe Harbor. This is where commitment becomes reality.

Lake Michigan & the City

Swim: Swim in Lake Michigan's Monroe Harbor with the Chicago skyline as your backdrop. Course maps are subject to change. Final routes will be confirmed closer to race day.

1500 Meters. 40 Kilometers. 10 Kilometers. The Test.

Your swim is twice the Sprint distance. Long enough that pacing matters. Cold enough (68–74°F) that wetsuits are legal and strongly recommended. Calm enough that technique wins over strength.

Your bike is where Olympic separates from everything else. Forty kilometers of closed Chicago streets with zero drafting allowed. Technical turns that demand focus. Fast descents that reward bike handling. A course that teaches you what your body is actually capable of.

Your run is the final verdict. Ten kilometers on the lakefront, you'll know at kilometer eight whether you fueled correctly. At kilometer nine, you'll decide whether you're fighting or flying. At kilometer ten, you'll understand what Olympic triathlon means.

RACE THE OLYMPIC

Olympic Distance

Twelve to sixteen weeks of training. 8–12 hours per week. Early morning swims. Weekend long bikes. Structured run progression building to double-digit kilometers.

You'll learn what peak fitness feels like. You'll understand the mental game: how to push when the run gets hard. You'll practice race fueling in training so it's automatic on race day.

Olympic distance training transforms your fitness. You're building more than endurance. You're building the confidence that comes from committing to something meaningful. That's the Olympic distance difference.

SECURE YOUR SPOT

The Course That Demands Excellence

Nothing is left to chance on Sunday. Pre-race briefing covers every detail. Transition is organized and calm. Timing is real-time. Aid stations are every mile on the run with water, electrolyte, and medical support.

The Quick Guide answers every logistics question: parking, packet pickup, what to bring, weather plan, gear rules, timing cutoffs.

Sunday morning, you'll arrive as an athlete ready to execute the race you trained for. You'll have prepared for heat, cold, wind, or rain. You'll have trained your nutrition strategy. You'll have visualized the course. By the time you exit the water, you'll be executing. By the time you hit the run, you'll be operating on training and instinct.

Olympic doesn't leave room for surprises. That's why it works.
